This Chair Symbolizes Peace for Me !

There is nothing special about this chair.
It doesn't recline or have a table next to it
to place my morning tea.
It doesn't have a footrest or comfy cushions. It isn't in a special location (or so it seems).
This chair, I drug outside into the barren backyard of the house I am sharing with
7 men. Yes I said 7 men. All in an effort to endure a southern AZ summer of extreme heat and be able to sleep and function.
Actually, most are very quiet and peaceful.
A few are kind of unique characters.
Some I never see or hear.
This chair offers me a bit of peace and solitude.
This chair offers me quiet time without being watched.

And yet… this chair became mine.
A small, unnoticed corner where I could sip my morning tea, listen to the birds, and watch the light change. Watch the moon seem to disappear while sun rises on horizon. Check to see Venus in the eastern sky shining her loving light on me.
I contemplate my thoughts and what I would like to change and visualize my future. Watch planes flying east and wonder where they might be going.
Here, I’ve found quiet in the chaos.
I’ve written. I’ve cried. I’ve simply been.
This chair became my boundary.
My pause button.
A gentle act of reclaiming peace —
even if only for thirty minutes at sunrise.
When I need to take a break,
I close my eyes
and remember where I’m headed.
